Our support staff and teachers at Shiloh Community School are the heartbeat behind our mission here. They believe that fueling the desire for learning is primary, but also creating a pathway for their students to see and experience how God is woven into all subjects that they're learning. Classically teaching the mind and heart of every student is their goal.

Office Administrator

Ashley Ashby

Ashley is one of the founding members of Shiloh Community School and serves as our Chief Office Administrator. She is the steady, behind-the-scenes force who helps keep everything running smoothly day in and day out.

Ashley and her husband are raising their son and daughter, and she treasures time with her family—including their three dogs, Stella, Cole, and Charlotte. When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her on the sidelines cheering at her kids’ games, serving faithfully at Pioneer Church, or enjoying a little well-earned shopping time.

Before stepping into her role at Shiloh, Ashley homeschooled her children for five years, developing a deep appreciation for individualized education and the unique needs of each child. That experience, combined with a shared vision for something more, led her to partner with her longtime friend of 15 years, Laura, to bring Shiloh Community School to life.

At SCS, Ashley oversees the financial operations, manages the school calendar, and ensures that the day-to-day administrative needs are handled with excellence and care. She brings wisdom, organization, and thoughtful decision-making to the office, helping create a strong foundation that supports both families and staff.

Laura Easter

Laura is one of the founding members of Shiloh Community School and serves as our High School Coordinator and Creative Curriculum Specialist. She is a mom of three boys, the wife of a church planter, and someone who loves to dream big.

Her vision for Shiloh Community School grew out of a deep passion for education that began in college and was further shaped through years of homeschooling her two oldest sons. During the COVID season, as many families began rethinking what education could and should look like, Laura listened closely. Through those conversations—and a strong encouragement from the community—Shiloh Community School was born.

Laura has a heart for classical education, Socratic teaching, facilitating good conversation within classrooms and is deeply committed to cultivating curious, thoughtful learners who love truth and discovery.

Outside of school, you’ll likely find her curled up with a podcast and a creamy cup of coffee, enjoying a good British drama or mystery series, cheering on her boys at baseball games and karate, or faithfully serving at Pioneer Church.

Amy Wilson

Amy Wilson is our fantastic Kindergarten teacher. She is a ray of sunshine and is probably one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet. As a home-grown Stoneville girl, Amy met and married her husband, Doug of 24 years and moved to Madison. Together, they have 3 children, Max, Emma and Maddie, who she had the privilege of homeschooling from beginning to end. She attends Freedom Baptist in Rural Hall and enjoys serving there. In addition to spending time with her family and serving at her church, she loves cooking and taking care of their many farm animals. We are so grateful for the passions and gifts that Amy will bring to our team this year!

Mandy Rowland

Mandy Rowland joins us, as our 1st grade teacher. She's a wife to Dwayne, mom to Logan, and dog mom to Bailey and Cooper. She graduated from East Carolina University and went straight to doing what she loves-teaching! Mandy has a true passion for making teaching fun. After graduating from East Carolina University, she took a position teaching Kindergarten in our local public schools. She is very passionate about serving her community and holds a seat on the Board of her local fire department. During summer break you will find her camping with her family and spending lots of time in the Boone, NC area. On weekends, you will find her playing games with her family, walking her dogs on local trails, and spending time with her friends. She is very excited to be a part of the SCS family!

Danielle Milligan

Danielle joins us as our 2nd grade teacher. She and her husband, Jeremy are parents to four terrific children. It has been her privilege to be engaged in Christian School ministry through classrooms, homeschool, and Sunday schools all of her adult life. It is a passion of hers to discover and meet the needs of students and prepare them with the tools needed to grow into their fullest potential. Her goal is to create a fair and loving environment so students can thrive with the talents God has blessed them. Danielle said, “Communication is the key to working together effectively and I look forward to partnering with SCS families for the student’s good and God’s glory.” We are thrilled to have her using her God-given gifts at Shiloh Community this year.

Sydney Joyner

Ms. Joyner is no stranger to Madison—she’s lived here her whole life and is excited to now serve her hometown in such a meaningful way.

She brings with her a heart for teaching, a love for children, and a deep desire to be a Godly influence in the lives of her students. Sydney graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2023, and we know God has beautifully orchestrated her path to bring her to Shiloh!

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her enjoying a good movie, working on a diamond painting, or spending time with her family and her fiancé, Roman.  We can’t wait to see how God uses her in the lives of our students and families.

Kimberly Wheeler

Meet Mrs. Kimberly Wheeler — Our New 4th Grade Teacher!

We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Wheeler to the Shiloh Community School family! Her teaching journey has been as adventurous and meaningful as the students she’s served — from giving one-on-one piano lessons to leading an in-home English class for a village of children in Northern Thailand.

A graduate of Boise State University, Mrs. Wheeler has spent much of her adult life teaching and mentoring children and teens — including homeschooling her own four kids for 18 years, one of whom has special needs. Through her family’s ministry, The Phoenix Alliance, she has also worked with child survivors of trafficking in Southeast Asia and mentored girls in juvenile detention here in the U.S., helping equip and encourage them as they rebuild their lives.

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find Mrs. Wheeler reading a good book, cooking for her crew, playing the piano, or squeezing in a light workout (mostly to justify her next snack!). She is passionate about helping students discover their God-given potential and develop a lifelong love for learning.

We can’t wait to see all the joy and wisdom she brings to our 4th grade class this year!

Heather Belton

Heather Belton comes to Shiloh Community School as our Middle School English and Math teacher. She's a wife to Eric, a mom to Isaac, volunteer at LOT 2540, and lover of Classical Education. Heather homeschooled her son for 7 years, who now attends GTCC, and was a Director for Classical Conversations. It was there that she found a passion for elevating the everyday parts of education to show them how God is woven through it. She and her family recently gutted and restored a 1960 GM4104 Bus to an RV, so they can travel the US. It's her desire for every child to learn to love learning and to create a wholesome environment to cultivate rich relationships with her students to prepare them for life outside the walls of Shiloh Community School. Heather is a valuable asset to our school family and your kids will appreciate her talents for years to come after leaving her classroom.

Courtney Baughn

We’re thrilled to welcome Courtney Baughn to the Shiloh Community School family! She will be teaching our 6th and 7th grade combo class, and we couldn’t be more excited for the heart and experience she brings.

Courtney grew up in Madison, NC, where she still lives with her high school sweetheart—now husband of 21 years—their two amazing children (a son and a daughter), and one very spoiled fur baby.

With a passion for both academic and spiritual growth, Courtney says some of the most rewarding experiences in life come from seeing children thrive in both areas. This will be her fourth year teaching, and she is overjoyed to join the godly atmosphere of Shiloh.

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her adventuring with her family, baking something delicious, reading, crocheting, or crafting something creative.

Kristen Chrismon

Shiloh Community School is excited to introduce Kristen Chrismon as our new High School Math and Science Teacher!

Originally from New Jersey, Kristen moved to Summerfield, NC in 1991 and now lives in Reidsville with her husband of 17 years, Steve, and their three children—Ryan, Reid, and Lily.

Kristen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Gardner-Webb University and spent a decade working as a construction project manager before choosing to stay home to raise her children. She later began working with Rockingham County Schools and discovered her passion for education.

Outside the classroom, Kristen loves spending time with friends, crafting, watching movies, and relaxing with her family.

Kristen feels strongly that God led her to Shiloh, and she is thrilled to share her passion and excitement for learning with her students.

Julie Nelson

We’re excited to introduce Mrs. Julie Nelson, our new High School English and History teacher at Shiloh Community School!

Originally from Southern Indiana and the oldest of three siblings, Mrs. Nelson has always had a heart for people and the Gospel. She studied Bible Theology, Missions, and Youth Ministry at Appalachian Bible college in Beckley, WV, where she also met her husband, Lee. Lee now serves as a chaplain, sharing the love of Jesus in workplaces across the region.

Julie and Lee have two children—Danielle (almost 12) and Josiah (6)—and she’s spent the last several years serving in church ministry and homeschooling. With a strong foundation in faith, a love for teaching, and a deep understanding of the teen years, Mrs. Nelson is passionate about walking alongside students during these pivotal seasons of life.

She looks forward to making literature and history come alive while being a steady example of Jesus—showing His love, patience, and truth in every classroom moment

Kara Denny

Kara is our Art Teacher for all grades. She is a mom of two boys, wife and dog mom to Dolly. Finding a way to be creative is no problem for Kara. She is constantly making, painting, or constructing something interesting for herself or others. She's not afraid to let the kids use different mediums and is such a talented teacher that brings out the best in our students.

TJ Easter

TJ has joined the SCS family, as the Bible teacher. He is Laura's husband and also the full-time pastor of Pioneer Church. As a graduate of Liberty University, in Religious Studies, TJ was called to ministry and the calling was nothing short of God's grace. TJ has a passion for making God's Word real and relatable for the next generation. It's our hope that he can help fuel the mind of each child who attends SCS with the knowledge and understanding of the Word, so that they can come to know and love Jesus. If TJ isn't preaching, you can find him coaching his son's baseball team, fishing, reading, or serving someone in the community. Your kids will love TJ's fun and engaging personality.

Violet Ashby

Violet is our Main Office Assistant, but more than that, she is our one-of-a-kind, fill in the gaps, anywhere you need her support staff member. She brings joy to everyone who enters the doors of Shiloh Community School by how she greets everyone each morning. If there is a need, it's usually filled by Violet. Day in and day out, we see the footprints of God by how well Violets serves the students and staff of SCS.
