Our support staff and teachers at Shiloh Community School are the heartbeat behind our mission here. They believe that fueling the desire for learning is primary, but also creating a pathway for their students to see and experience how God is woven into all subjects that they're learning. Classically teaching the mind and heart of every student is their goal.

Office Administrator

ASHLEY ASHBY

Ashley is one of the founding members of Shiloh Community School and serves as our Chief Office Administrator. She is the steady, behind-the-scenes force who helps keep everything running smoothly day in and day out.

Ashley and her husband are raising their son and daughter, and she treasures time with her family—including their three dogs, Stella, Cole, and Charlotte. When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her on the sidelines cheering at her kids’ games, serving faithfully at Pioneer Church, or enjoying a little well-earned shopping time.

Before stepping into her role at Shiloh, Ashley homeschooled her children for five years, developing a deep appreciation for individualized education and the unique needs of each child. That experience, combined with a shared vision for something more, led her to partner with her longtime friend of 15 years, Laura, to bring Shiloh Community School to life.

At SCS, Ashley oversees the financial operations, manages the school calendar, and ensures that the day-to-day administrative needs are handled with excellence and care. She brings wisdom, organization, and thoughtful decision-making to the office, helping create a strong foundation that supports both families and staff.

LAURA EASTER

Laura is one of the founding members of Shiloh Community School and serves as our High School Coordinator, English, History, and Spanish teacher. She is a mom of three boys, the wife of a church planter, and someone who loves to dream big.

Her vision for Shiloh Community School grew out of a deep passion for education that began in college and was further shaped through years of homeschooling her two oldest sons. During the COVID season, as many families began rethinking what education could and should look like, Laura listened closely. Through those conversations—and a strong encouragement from the community—Shiloh Community School was born.

Laura has a heart for classical education, Socratic teaching, facilitating good conversation within classrooms and is deeply committed to cultivating curious, thoughtful learners who love truth and discovery.

Outside of school, you’ll likely find her curled up with a podcast and a creamy cup of coffee, enjoying a good British drama or mystery series, cheering on her boys at baseball or football games and karate, or faithfully serving as the Kids Ministry Director at Pioneer Church.

AMY WILSON

Amy Wilson is our fantastic Kindergarten teacher. She is a ray of sunshine and is probably one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet. As a home-grown Stoneville girl, Amy met and married her husband, Doug of 24 years and moved to Madison. Together, they have 3 children, Max, Emma and Maddie, who she had the privilege of homeschooling from beginning to end.

She attends Freedom Baptist in Rural Hall and enjoys serving there. In addition to spending time with her family and serving at her church, she loves cooking and taking care of their many farm animals. In her free time, she is caring for their honey bees, whipping up treats in the kitchen, and making her home a haven for all who enter. She's the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman and such a wise addition and mentor for all the women who work at SCS. We are so grateful for the passions and gifts that Amy brings to our team!

MANDY ROWLAND

Mandy Rowland is our 1st/2nd grade combo teacher. She's a wife to Dwayne, mom to Logan, and dog mom to Bailey and Cooper. Her son just moved into college and she is incredibly proud to be a UNC-C mom! She graduated from East Carolina University and went straight to doing what she loves-teaching!

Mandy has a true passion for making teaching fun. After graduating from East Carolina University, she took a position teaching Kindergarten in our local public schools. She is very passionate about serving her community and holds a seat on the Board of her local fire department. During summer break you will find her camping with her family and spending lots of time in the Boone, NC area. On weekends, you will find her playing games with her family, walking her dogs on local trails, and spending time with her friends.

At Shiloh, she also serves as a teacher advocate on our PTL board and facilitates many events, collaboration between teachers, staff, leadership, families, and students. Mandy goes above and beyond to make sure our school family is made to feel welcome, well-served, and reflects the heart of Christ. She is an asset to our school and community and we are blessed to have her.

SYDNEY WALKER

Mrs. Walker is no stranger to Madison. She’s lived here her whole life and is excited to now serve her hometown in such a meaningful way.

She brings with her a heart for teaching, a love for children, and a deep desire to be a Godly influence in the lives of her students. Sydney graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2023, and we know God has beautifully orchestrated her path to bring her to Shiloh!

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her enjoying a good movie, working on a diamond painting, or spending time with her family and her husband, Roman. They are expecting a little girl in December and we can't wait for her to start roaming the halls with us one day! We can’t wait to see how God uses her in the lives of our students and families.

FARRAH BRAY

SCS welcomes Farrah Bray as our new fourth grade teacher. Mrs. Bray is elated to be part of the SCS family.

She is happily married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Raegen and Ellis.

She is currently pursuing her degree as a Sophomore at Rockingham Community School in Child Development and Family Studies. Before becoming a teacher, she served as a youth leader at her church, where she had the opportunity to teach children about Jesus, build relationships, and encourage them in their faith. Those experiences helped grow her love for guiding children by creating a positive, Christ-centered environment where they feel loved and supported.

She believes every child is uniquely created by God with special gifts and abilities. Her goal is to help students grow in confidence, character, and foster a love for learning while showing them the love of Christ each day. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve and teach at SCS and looks forward to a wonderful year!

EMALEIGH WILSON

Meet Our New 5th Grade Teacher: Emaleigh Wilson We are SO excited to welcome her to the Shiloh family!

Emaleigh has been praying for a new chapter and a change, and we are pretty sure God had something special in mind when He brought her to Shiloh and our fifth graders! We can’t wait to see all that He does through her this year.

At just 22 years old, Emaleigh already has a BIG heart for kids and a genuine desire to encourage, support, and help them grow not just academically, but in who God has created them to be. When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll probably find Emaleigh spending time with her family, singing or listening to music, serving at church, or hanging out with her sweet Irish Doodle, Nala.

She teaches Sunday School and serves in several children’s ministries at her church, so it’s safe to say that loving and investing in kids is a pretty big part of who she is! We are thankful God answered Emaleigh’s prayers by bringing her to Shiloh, and we’re even more thankful that He answered some of ours, too! Welcome to the flock, Emaleigh! We’re so glad you’re here!

COURTNEY BAUGHN

We’re thrilled to welcome Courtney Baughn to the Shiloh Community School family! She will be teaching our 6th and 7th grade combo class, and we couldn’t be more excited for the heart and experience she brings.

Courtney grew up in Madison, NC, where she still lives with her high school sweetheart—now husband of 21 years—their two amazing children (a son and a daughter), and one very spoiled fur baby.

With a passion for both academic and spiritual growth, Courtney says some of the most rewarding experiences in life come from seeing children thrive in both areas. This will be her fourth year teaching, and she is overjoyed to join the godly atmosphere of Shiloh.

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her adventuring with her family, baking something delicious, reading, crocheting, or crafting something creative.

KRISTEN CHRISMON

Shiloh Community School is excited to introduce Kristen Chrismon as our new High School Math and Science Teacher!

Originally from New Jersey, Kristen moved to Summerfield, NC in 1991 and now lives in Reidsville with her husband of 17 years, Steve, and their three children—Ryan, Reid, and Lily.

Kristen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Gardner-Webb University and spent a decade working as a construction project manager before choosing to stay home to raise her children. She later began working with Rockingham County Schools and discovered her passion for education.

Outside the classroom, Kristen loves spending time with friends, crafting, watching movies, and relaxing with her family.

Kristen feels strongly that God led her to Shiloh, and she is thrilled to share her passion and excitement for learning with her students.

KARA DENNY

Kara is our Art Teacher for all grades of six years. She is a mom of two boys, wife, and dog mom to Dolly.

Finding a way to be creative is no problem for Kara. She is constantly making, painting, or constructing something interesting for herself or others. She's not afraid to let the kids use different mediums and is such a talented teacher that brings out the best in our students.

In addition to overseeing our art program, she leads our Yearbook and Photography class, produces handmade props and art for all open houses, community parades, art shows, and much more. This year, she is using her love for plants to create a high school ground beautification team for our Agriculture students. You can also find her handling afternoon car line like a boss. Kara is one of our most versatile employees and consistently lives out the mission and vision of Shiloh within the walls daily. Blessed is an understatement and we're so glad to call her ours!

LOGAN KILBY

Mrs. Logan Kilby will be sharing her love of reading and movement as our Library and P.E. teacher for the second year in a row!

She graduated from NC State in 2017 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in S.T.E.M. She spent her first 8 years teaching public school in 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade in Kernersville.  After having her second child, she came out of full-time teaching to raise her two little girls but she enjoys getting to share her teaching gifts with us part-time.

She is a native to Madison but moved to Winston Salem after college.  She and her husband, Joseph, have been married for 8 years and have two sweet daughters: Elliana Claire(3) and Liliana Grace (1). When she's not in the classroom, she loves going to the beach, spending time with family, advocating for the Down Syndrome community, and making her girls laugh with her silly side!

Mrs. Kilby can’t wait to return this fall and share her gifts and passion with the SCS family!

ROMAN WALKER

Roman Walker (husband of Sydney) is our new Bible Teacher. He was born and raised in Madison, NC. He graduated from Carolina University in 2022 with a BA in Biblical Studies. In April of 2025, he became pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Madison. When he is not at Shiloh, that’s where most of his time is dedicated. New Life is actually the church where he was raised, and the journey to pastoring there has been a rich lesson in God's providence, which he noted he is still learning.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with my wife, reading, and watching/playing basketball and football. He and his wife are expecting a daughter in December, so they’re praying and preparing for an abundance of changes.

One fun fact, is that Pastor TJ Easter has been Roman's mentor for many years and for him to Be stepping into the role that TJ held for five years feels like a beautiful confirmation and divine appointment. He considers it a privilege to serve at Shiloh. He's very excited to see how the Lord uses his Bible class to grow and shape these students. His prayer is that Christ will become precious to them in every corner of life.

KASEY RICKARD

Please welcome our new Home Education/Life Skills teacher, Kasey Rickard. She was born and raised right over the county line in Stokes County, and she is still blessed to call it home with her husband, Chase and two boys, Kash and Wes.

She's been a Pre-K teacher since 2022 and from the very first day she stepped into the classroom, she knew working with children was where her heart belonged. She enjoys watching little minds learn and grow, and she is grateful the Lord led her to teaching.

When she's not at school, you’ll find her somewhere close to home. She loves tending to their garden, taking care of their little homestead, reading a good book, baking something that makes the whole house smell good, or trying another recipe that her family gets to be the taste testers for. If she's not doing that, she's probably out riding four-wheelers or hunting with her boys and nephew. Oh, and let’s not forget—you might also see her chasing chickens that somehow forgot they have a coop. (They’re just a little spoiled!)

She is especially excited to be teaching Home Ec because she truly believes the life skills taught in that class matter. In a world that’s always changing, she think it’s so important for kids to learn the everyday skills that build confidence and independence. Whether it’s cooking a meal, caring for a home, managing responsibilities, or serving others with a kind heart, these are the lessons they’ll carry with them long after they leave the classroom. Her hope is to help students grow not only in knowledge, but also in confidence as they prepare for everyday life.

Most importantly, she loves Jesus and strives to live each day with faith, gratitude, and a heart for serving others. She loves her family and this simple country life the Lord has blessed her with. Give her a front porch and the people she loves, and she'll be as happy as can be. We're so excited for this new chapter having Mrs. Kasey on board with us!

FRANCES ESTES

Our new K-2nd grade Teacher Assistant is Ms. Frances Estes. She is a native of Martinsville, VA, but has been a resident in Eden, NC for 26 years. She has two children and two grandsons.

She worked in the banking profession for twenty years and is a Rockingham Community College graduate with a diploma in Cosmetology, but her faith in the Lord directed her in a different path.

After listening to his calling, she became a Substitute teacher/Teacher Assistant for Rockingham County Schools. She retired in December, but felt the Lord leading her to continue to live out the calling God placed on her life at SCS. She is extremely excited and grateful to continue loving on the next generation with us.

VIOLET ASHBY

Violet is our Main Office Assistant, but more than that, she is our one-of-a-kind, fill in the gaps, anywhere you need her support staff member. She brings joy to everyone who enters the doors of Shiloh Community School by how she greets everyone each morning. If there is a need, it's usually filled by Violet. Day in and day out, we see the footprints of God by how well Violets serves the students and staff of SCS.
